Nanouk was born with a tooth, a sign of an exceptional destiny. He will be a great clan chief! Having become a hunter and fisherman, like all Eskimos, he suffers from having to kill animals. At least, he will teach his people not to massacre them unnecessarily. One day, he meets a Canadian, lost on the icy plains. Joë is part of a base that seeks to make contact with the Eskimos. Nanouk becomes his great friend and is introduced with wonder to this civilization that allows one to be protected from the cold, hunger, and disease. The little snow hunter will become a great, wise, and cautious chief.
