Antique Sarreguemines Bamboo Form Saucer – Unlisted Blue Decor – Iron Earth

Beautiful antique iron earthenware sauce boat from the Sarreguemines manufactory, Bamboo shape, accompanied by its ring. Very pretty blue decor composed of flowers, foliage and butterflies, in the spirit of some iconic Sarreguemines decors such as Carmen. This piece was the subject of an identification request to the Sarreguemines museum. The museum confirmed the Bamboo shape but could not precisely identify the decor: the frieze present on this sauce boat is not in their collections or among the many references consulted. The hypothesis of a rare variant, or even a decor test that did not continue, has notably been mentioned. A fairly unusual and particularly decorative piece for lovers of antique earthenware and Sarreguemines tableware. Good general condition for its age. Some small traces of use and chipping at the handle, visible in the photographs. No major accident.
